Tribunal and Mediation

Help when you need

Tribunal and Mediation Support:

Disagreements about an EHCP or school provision can feel incredibly stressful. By this point, many families are already exhausted — frustrated by the process and worried about whether their child will get the support they need.

If you’re considering mediation or a tribunal, it can feel daunting, but you don’t have to navigate it on your own. With the right guidance, the process is often much more manageable than it first appears.

Before most appeals, families are offered mediation — a supported conversation with the local authority to see whether an agreement can be reached. Many situations are resolved at this stage, without needing to go any further.

If agreement isn’t possible, you have the right to appeal to the SEND Tribunal. The tribunal is an independent panel that looks carefully at the evidence from both sides and decides what provision is appropriate for your child.

Although it can sound formal, it’s designed to be accessible to parents — and with clear preparation and steady support, you can approach it feeling informed and confident.

I provide support in:

  • Understanding your legal rights and options
  • Preparing for mediation meetings
  • Reviewing EHCPs and evidence
  • Organising and strengthening your case
  • Drafting and refining written submissions
  • Coaching you for meetings and hearings
  • Strategic advice to help resolve cases early where possible

Ways we can work together

Support is tailored to your individual situation, aiming to minimise conflict and work towards the best possible outcome. Many of the families I work with reach agreement before a final hearing — reducing stress and helping secure the right provision sooner.

“Thank you Delyth for your professionalism in handling our case and helping us to get the specialist setting that we requested, before the tribunal. Your hard work is deeply appreciated.”
