Parents – Support and Advice

Help for Parents / Carers

SEN Support is the process educational settings use to identify and meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs.  As an experienced SENCO I can help by:

  • Reviewing your child’s current support including looking at 1:1 and small group support, differentiation, frequency and duration of interventions, appropriate teaching and learning strategies, and answering your questions about SEN.
  • Working with you and your child’s education provider to ensure a holistic approach to learning and wellbeing.
  • Devising a provision map for your child and drafting / reviewing learning plans and targets set.
  • Providing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) guidance and support.
  • Attending meetings, mediation and tribunals as an advocate and support.

Meeting Attendance/ Advocacy
At times it can be difficult and overwhelming to find your way through the myriad of referrals required for different services, formal documentation and arrangements or legal duties.  I can act as an advocate by attending meetings with education, health and care professionals, or accompanying you to mediation / tribunals to ensure your child receives the best outcomes.

“Thank you for all the support, encouragement and love you have unconditionally given D over the years. We are truly grateful”.

Parent

I have worked with a variety of children whose needs include:
ADHD, ASD, Anxiety, Behavioural difficulties, Depression, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Global Developmental Delay, Hearing Impairment, Learning difficulties, Sensory difficulties, and Speech and language difficulties.

Fees
I offer an initial 20-minute phone consultation free of charge where we can discuss all of your needs and prioritise them accordingly. Sessions are then £105 per hour including a written summary of what has been discussed. These can be online or face to face depending on preference. Tribunal fees are separate and available upon request.

There are reduced rates to parents or carers who are receiving financial assistance. Please do get in touch to discuss this further.
